EMANCIPATOR A sleeping giant of the electronic music world, Douglas Appling - more commonly known as Emancipator - has quietly established himself as a mainstay in the electronic music scene since the release of his debut album, Soon It Will Be Cold Enough in 2006. Classically-trained as a violinist from an early age, Appling's organic approach to electronic music production draws inspiration from a wide range of international cultures and musical genres, culminating in a refreshingly authentic brand of electronic music that has infiltrated global consciousness. 2015 was a busy year having released Live In Athens in June, and Dusk to Dawn Remixes - a remix album featuring massively-popular contributions from the likes of ODESZA, Little People, Eliot Lipp, and more - in July, 2015 and now his first full length album in three years, Seven Seas. Seven Seas is the product of over two years of work, collaborations, experiences, and live performances all culminating in a cohesive collection of songs that solidifies that Emancipator is only getting better with age. WAX FUTURE Comprised of Connor Hansell, Keith Wadsworth and Jamal Rab, Wax Future is a mosaic of modern electronica. Blending elements of everything from funk to glitch through a live, improvisational lens. Taking from further roots in hip hop and soul, the Philadelphia group is constantly expanding upon its original thesis, while effortlessly maintaining a cathartic focal point of sound. Coming off a relentless summer of festival performances and club dates alongside the likes of Big Gigantic, Tipper, The New Deal, Opiuo, Freddy Todd, Vibe Street, Brightside and capped by a support play alongside Pretty Lights at the Bank of New Hampshire Pavilion, Wax Future now looks to the release of their make Me Feel Again EP through Adapted Records on October 3rd. FACE PLANT The face is the primary means of emotional expression. To plant is to place something with the intention to have it grow. It's with these ideas in mind that Face Plant looks to create and express emotions through his music. In order to facilitate the growth of the mind, Face Plant aims to plant inspiration in his listeners and to become a plant of sorts himself; manufacturing emotions. JIZZY FRA Bass music is all about satisfying your eardrums with unusually delightful sound waves. Jared Frazer, also known as Jizzy Fra released an incredibly unique concept piece, titled ‘Worldly Winds Mixtape‘ yesterday on Philly based label, Funkadelphia Records. Funkadelphia has worked with the best of the best up-and-coming bass music producers such as Toadface, Wax Future, Tsimba, Levitation Jones and many more.
